Big Fish began processing payrolls in January 2004 in an extra room of the Dignam family home. After six months, his wife was ready to have that room back. It was then that the offices were moved to Orange, CA. The business model has strayed very little from the inception of the company. It includes slow managed growth, crisp defined internal processes, and an excellent customer service experience. Big Fish is first and foremost a payroll processing company. There are ancillary services that compliment that offering, but Big Fish remains true to its mission and its clients, by not becoming distracted trying to be “all things to all people.” Justin Dignam, Owner, states, “There are other companies that are very large and publicly held that can sell you anything you want: payroll, 401k administration, unemployment claims handling, etc., but what the client finds is that this portfolio of services is managed by different people, in different locations across the country, with different technology platforms. The only thing integrated is your invoice!” Big Fish Payroll strives to be the best at what we do. Most of our clients choose Big Fish for one or more of the following reasons:
- Service Experience – phones are answered before the third ring, by a human, who is polite
- Functional Enhancement – our web entry platform is highly praised for its excellent features, easy and efficient navigation
- Emotion – clients understand that the money they pay means more to us than it does to a publicly held, multi-billion dollar company. It feels good to support a fellow small business
- Price – we are typically less expensive than our competitors, because our infrastructure and overhead are much smaller
All Big Fish employees are brainwashed with the understanding and belief that it is much harder to sell a new client, than to keep a current one. We do everything in our power to keep our clients happy. We hope that you will allow us the opportunity to turn you into a raving fan now that you have learned a little about us.
